              August 2019 Wrap Up

I survived! Brilliant! I love it when I do that!

Whose genius idea was it to put not one but two 600+ page books in my TBR this month...oh wait... that was me.

But I did it. I passed my NEWT's. It may have been with 10 minutes left in the month and switching out a couple books, but I did it and still knocked off several TBR vets from my list. All I can say is that goodness for audiobooks or I might not have made it.

While I'm glad to have finally read the ACOTAR series, I'm even happier I waited to have the entire run. I got so wrapped up in the series I just binged it. Book two and three were such engrossing reads. Not going to lie, there was some straight up ugly crying on ACOWAR. Those last few chapters... oh buddy.

I also got caught up on SJTR just in time for the last book in the series to come out in a couple of weeks. Im torn. As much as I enjoy the dynamic between Audrey and Thomas, book three felt so flat. I'm really interested to see what happens with Capturing the Devil.

I ended up switching out The Wicked King for the Daughters of Temperance Hobbs. My library loan came in much earlier then anticipated. I honestly cant remember much of Cruel Prince so I'm going to reread it and the Wicked King when we're closer to the release of the third book in November.

Most of the rest of my reads for the month were good but nothing that really stood out save for the ARC of The Ten Thousand Doors of Janurary. This was such a phenomenal read. One of my top reads of the year. Highly recommend it. It's a perfect fantasy for the upcoming Autumn season.  I have a full review here

Just a small town girl living in a literary world. While books are an obvious obsession, I also adore baking, crafting and reenacting. One day I plan to run off to the woods, build a homestead and enjoy a simple Hobbit life.

Until then, join me for a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit and happy reading!
